Add these 5 beautiful falls to your ‘bucket list!’
I’ve always been a fan of natural beauty. The way the trees change with each season is amazing. The way they dance and whisper in the breeze – just so mesmerizing! How some birds have more vibrant colors than others. Nature is just so very beautiful!
I have so much that I want to see in life. So much I want to show my kiddos. And one of those things I want to show them is a small list of the most beautiful waterfalls where we live.
Now, I’ve looked into a few of the prettiest waterfalls in PA and decided to make myself a little ‘bucket list.’ I urge you mamas to do the same for your kiddos! It was fun to do. And this list may even grow if we are able to knock these off that list. Since we haven’t visited these (or any of PA’s waterfalls) yet, the photos I’m using are not my own. I collected them from sources online.
If you haven’t already, I urge you to make a list of the top 5 waterfalls in your state! I’m 99.9% sure you won’t regret it one bit!
My Top 5 Waterfalls ‘Bucket List!’
- Buttermilk Falls
Located in Indiana County. These falls are said to be a favorite of the late Mr. Fred Rogers. Now, here’s a question – who wouldn’t want to visit these gorgeous falls knowing this little detail??

- Hector Falls
Located near the Allegheny National Forest. These falls are very interesting to look at. From the photos that I’ve seen, the water cascades down from a rectangular-shaped formation. I’m not sure at all how these could have formed – and so beautifully – but I’d love to see this one!

- Ganoga Falls
Located in Ricketts Glen State Park. These falls, at approximately 94ft at its highest point, are said to be striking while gazing up from the bottom where one can catch the falls’ full view. I have also read that these falls have one of the finest hikes in PA. Who doesn’t like a good hike?

But, with it being quite a popular spot, I have read that it’d be best to visit in early morning or during the week. I’m not really one for being around too many people – especially large crowds – but this beauty is quite irresistible! I mean, look how pretty!
- Silverthread Falls
Located in Pike County. At about 80ft, these falls are said to be the easiest of all of PA’s falls to get to. Only a few minutes from the visitor’s center, you can stroll along a boardwalk – which is wheelchair friendly! How cool!

*BONUS!* Less than half a mile down the road from there, you can see Dingman’s Falls! This is the second tallest waterfall in PA at 130ft. Gorgeous!

- Cole Run Falls
Located in Johnstown, PA. These falls are said to be the most picturesque falls in Pennsylvania. These are small but breathtaking! At only 15ft, it’s not nearly the tallest, but one of the most unique with two tiers. Here’s a plus – it’s only a short hike to visit!

What do you think of these beauties?
These are my top 5 to see with my family. I must say, I’m quite stoked! I have very high hopes for next summer. I just know my kiddos will have so much fun!
Tell me mamas! What is your waterfall ‘bucket list?’
Beautiful 🙂
If you decide you want to venture to western NY, there’s some awesome waterfalls there too and they aren’t too far away.
Stonybrook State Park (my personal fav) & the ever popular Letchworth State Park!
