“There is a calmness to a life lived in gratitude. A quiet joy.”
There is so much in life to be thankful for. I don’t even know how to choose just one. Our home, our jobs, our transportation, our family, our friends, our love, and…I could keep going. But I want to talk about one thing in particular. I want to talk about ‘the little things in life.
You know what I mean. ‘The LITTLE things…’
Smiles. Honesty. Tears. Kindness. Giggles. Loyalty. Even coffee! Yep, definitely coffee.
Seriously, though…if it weren’t for the little things, where would we really be? I honestly believe these are what keeps us sane. Keeps us lively. Keeps us interesting. Don’t you think so?
One of my favorite things in our home is listening to my littles playing…whether it be alone or together. It’s not often that they get along for longer than a few minutes…but when they do, it always makes me smile. 🙂
I seem to notice things more than most folks around me. The way people move. The way their faces change when they talk. What some folks seem to do when they believe nobody is paying attention. They don’t see me, but I notice them.
I also notice things that people do for others. The kindness in others can be so great. Someone buying their other half coffee. Making them dinner when they’re not feeling well or are too tired from work. Holding hands while walking down the street. Kisses hello or goodbye. It truly is the little things that matter.
My hubby does 2 specific ‘little things’ every week, like clockwork. Trash to the curb and mowing the yard. They are considered ‘little things’ but they’re actually quite great to me. And I am so grateful for him. <3
It’s the little things, right? The little things that keep us sane, that keep us going, that just keep us alive! The little things are what I’m thankful for! 🙂
